Why You Need to Video Your Event

Whether you're hosting a conference, a fundraiser, or a community gathering, professional event documentation isn't just about creating memories - it's about maximizing your event's impact and extending its reach far beyond the day itself. Professional videos provide an invaluable way to preserve and share your event for marketing materials, social media content, and a touch point for all attendees.

Why hire a professional?
By hiring a videographer for your event, you can ensure that everyone coming to your event (and everyone working) can focus on the event and enjoy all the hard work and planning that went into it. Your videographer can focus on capturing the best moments, the biggest smiles, and all the big wigs in attendance, to create an epic video recap of the occasion.

What to do with the video?
There are a number of excellent uses for event photos and videos such as:
-Social media sharing,
-Marketing and promotions for future events,
-In a thank you email to attendees,
-On your website.

Here are a few videos that really show off the importance of capturing and documenting your event.

Denison University: Summer TUTTI
| EVENT DOCUMENTATION | MULTIPLE DELIVERABLES | SOCIAL MEDIA VIDEOS |

This video is a great example of how capturing event footage and combining it with a few interviews can really tell a story. Each year, Denison University hosts a summer arts festival for high school students studying music, dance, theater, and musical theater. The last night of the festival, all the students come together for a number of performances, within their own disciplines with a few multi-disciplinary performances as well. With two videographers for a few hours, we were able to capture footage of each performance in its entirety and grab a few quick interviews to provide some information and context about the event. In all, there were about 10 final videos for this project- including a video of each performance in its entirety, the overview video you see here, and a number of social media cuts 30-60 seconds in length. Not only did all the participants get high-quality videos of their performances to share with friends and family, but the university got a number of marketing videos to help promote the program for next year. You can see a few more videos and find out more about the project here.

First Responders Ball
| EVENT RECAP | THANK YOU VIDEO | EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY |

For the 2024 First Responders Ball, I was able to create a great event recap and thank you video for the attendees, as well as a beautiful photo gallery. This event is a fundraiser focusing on raising money to help first responders and their families in the Columbus, Ohio area. Filming the event offered a great opportunity to grab documentation of all the hard work and planning that went into this event, create a piece of content that can be used to thank those in attendance and give updates on the final fundraising amount, and give the Forester Foundation some video content they could share online and help promote the event for next year.

WaterWood Retreat Testimonials
| EVENT DOCUMENTATION | TESTIMONIALS | MARKETING MATERIAL |

I was able to film this incredible retreat at the WaterWood estate in Vermillion, Ohio and put together several videos about the retreats, the estate, and of course this testimonial video. I filmed the all-day womens retreat and when it was finished in the evening, I was able to interview a few people who gave testimonials about their experience. These testimonials are great resources for the event planner to have to promote future retreats and add credibility to her events. The footage of the event combined with the great testimonials creates a video that is polished, professional, and practical.

Berger Booth at Cultivate 2024
| TRADE SHOW DOCUMENTATION | SOCIAL MEDIA HIGHLIGHT |

Here is an example of a really simple video that captures the Berger booth at the 2024 Cultivate conference in Columbus, Ohio. The folks at Berger wanted to show off their new booth, their friendly staff, and create a fun video to share on social media. This short video combines fun music and interesting shots to capture the feeling of the event, and document their impressive booth setup on the trade show floor.
