Project Feature - C-Pass Testimonials

Video projects often evolve over time. People, locations, and timelines change on projects all the time, even purpose and goals for videos can change through the production process, and that is ok! It’s important to me to remain flexible and allow myself, and my projects, to evolve along with the clients needs for a project. A great example of a project that evolved over time is the one I worked on with the Special Improvement District in downtown Columbus. The SID team came to me with a project to help promote the C-Pass program, which offers a free bus pass to people who are working in the downtown Columbus area.

The initial goal was to use the videos as an educational tool for real estate brokers, so that they could educate future buyers/renters of office space downtown about the free bus passes as a benefit for employees. We recorded interview testimonials of eleven different people working downtown, we then created a short testimonial video for each person that are under 30 seconds in length, and a longer video that includes clips from each interview that runs about 2 and a half minutes in length.

After the completion of the educational videos, the plan for the use of these videos changed. They wanted to use these videos on social media, as ads and promotional material to educate the public about the C-Pass program. They wanted the social media videos to be eye catching and provide captions, so that people could view them without sound. They wanted 4 testimonial videos to be edited down to 15 seconds, and a 30 second cut that included 3 different interviews. Re-editing these videos for this new goal was a simple fix, and ended up providing the client with a new way to educate the public about the C-Pass program and provide some fresh content for their Instagram page.

Working with the SID team on these videos was great, and seeing the project change and evolve over time to meet new goals and needs was a fun new experience. I can’t wait to work with them again and help promote some of the amazing things that are happening in Columbus, Ohio.
